From a 1934 talent contest at the Apollo theatre in Harlem, the film follows Ella’s extraordinary journey across 5 decades as she reflects the passions and troubles of the times in her music and her life. whenhear 说：乐队的音乐就是让人听着旋律扭扭屁股，此传统由来已久，跨越多种音乐风格。Ella大妈之所以备受推崇，最重要的是她能现编现唱不想词儿，Freestyle信手拈来。中国戏曲、曲艺的名角儿们也有类似能力，也就是现挂、钻锅。另外，看本片帮我找到了鲍比达那首《没有男人的房子不算家》的创作动机出处，原来是Ella的一首歌啊。
