少年高 说：大猫非常自负而且喜欢奚落其他落魄的流浪猫，当它向一只短尾巴怪猫炫耀自己的尾巴时，怪猫向它的尾巴施了魔法，赋予其猫格，不停地为大猫带来麻烦，以至于自负的大猫不得不砍掉自己的尾巴（自负心理）。灵感源自编剧对自家猫的观察，可能猫喜欢和自己尾巴过不去。导演为了找灵感，买了40多张探戈舞曲。
